‘Saturday Night Live’ preview: Ryan Gosling, Taran Killam try out for Leon Bridges

Leon Bridges is considered at the moment to be one of the rising stars in music, and with that, he’s getting to appear this weekend on a show with quite a sterling reputation for bringing people to the next level: “Saturday Night Live.”

What we like about him in the promo below alongside host Ryan Gosling and cast member Taran Killam is that he seems to be completely game to go along with everything thrown at him, including some ridiculous statement Taran comes up with about angels getting their wings. Also, he listens to some auditions from both Taran and Ryan, which are of course terrible (well, to a certain degree; Gosling isn’t bad).

Given what we’ve heard of Bridges’ music we are in for a treat this weekend, and while we’re not sure what Gosling will bring as a host to the show, we feel like he has the talent to do comedy very well and seems game to give something like this a shot. As a matter of fact, the only complaint we really have at the moment is NBC injecting an ad into the actual promo along with the ad that tends to play before it. Basically, they are now forcing you to watch two commercials before what is actually a commercial. If this wasn’t a promo in its own right, maybe we would not be anywhere near as annoyed … or if it was at least a little longer.
