‘Madam Secretary’ season 2, episode 8 preview: Is Elizabeth set to face betrayal?

If there is something that Elizabeth McCord has to be prepared for on “Madam Secretary” basically every minute of the day, it is the fact that there could be someone out to get her at almost every turn.

Maybe this is one way to read the new sneak peek below, since there are so many different factors at play that someone may take advantage of the chance to gain some political capital at her expense. With tensions in Russia getting worse and worse, it’s clear that there is a need for some sort of change in President Dalton’s cabinet and staff.

While these sort of conversations are happening, Elizabeth will be spending this episode trying in part to get Craig Sterling out as National Security Advisor. Whether or not she can do that without it becoming a big, public scandal is something that is rather difficult to tell.

All we know is that given that this a drama on CBS, and you’ve got people acting independently and with their own motives in mind, this is probably not going to be anywhere near as easy as Elizabeth hopes that it will be. There are also still episodes ahead this fall, and with that you also have to remember / consider that it is possible that this could drag out for a little bit longer.
