‘Scorpion’ season 2 spoilers: Series boss on powerful Megan story

The second season of “Scorpion” on CBS has already taken us down a variety of interesting twists and turns,but the one on Monday night does not seem like one that you can really be excited about. Instead, it feels much more along the lines of “heartbreaking.” We are speaking here specifically about the upcoming storyline for the Megan O’Brien character, as her brother Walter is going to need to make key decisions on her failing health at the same time that there is a massive outbreak taking place at the hospital.

While we cannot confirm that the newly-married Megan will die, it certainly appears that Walter is going to have to prepare himself for this possibility. This is according to what executive producer Nick Wootton had to say on the subject to TVLine:

“What he’s hell-bent to do is preserve her memories and her personality electronically, so that at a future point down the line, he can transfer all of this into a new body or into a new vessel, as it were … As this episode goes on, he starts to realize — as the team impresses on him — that he has to live in the moment as opposed to living in denial. He ultimately ends up solving this issue at her bedside at a critical moment.”

As for whether or not there will be any tension between Sylvester and Walter over the former’s decision to marry Megan, Wootton claims that it is not going to be a significant issue. Instead, this may bring the two closer together, even in spite of the tension that they’ve displayed in the past.
