‘Supergirl’ spoilers: Melissa Benoist’s former ‘Glee’ co-star Blake Jenner cast

We were wondering if there was ever going to be a “Glee” reunion over on “Supergirl” with Melissa Benoist and Blake Jenner. Not only did the two have a close connection on the Fox series as Marley and Ryder, but there is also the fact now that they are married in real life.

Today, the news is official that Jenner is coming aboard. As first reported by TVLine, the actor (who we first discovered on “The Glee Project”) will recur early next year as a potential love interest for Benoist’s Kara Danvers in Adam Foster. He has some sort of history with Cat Grant, and therefore could end up being a key cog in figuring out the relationship between Kara and her boss. There is not too much else known about the part for now.

While we do think that “Supergirl” could pump the brakes a little bit on all of the romances given that you already have ‘shippers pairing her with James and also Winn, we do like seeing Jenner get a chance to shine on this show. We always thought that he was a good addition to “Glee,” but thanks to the million or so other cast members that they had to service it was hard for him to get a lot of other screen time.

There is of course still a chance for another “Glee” reunion within the DC superhero universe, provided that “Supergirl” decides that they want to cross over to “The Flash” someday. Grant Gustin of course had a memorable recurring role on that show as the wickedly nasty Sebastian.
