‘Outlander’ season 2: ‘Game of Thrones’ star Sophie Turner not playing Brianna

Outlander -Throughout the past few months, there has been one consistent talking point when it comes to “Outlander“: Who is playing the character of Brianna? There have been countless rumors, and if you look at some publications out there at least two or three people have already been hilariously confirmed for the part!

In reality, though, no casting has been confirmed. The latest rumor was tied to “Game of Thrones” star Sophie Turner, and it all stems from someone saying she’d make a good person for the role of Jamie and Claire’s daughter on the Starz series, which is premiering its second season this spring. As she tells Entertainment Weekly, the role is not happening; not only that, but she has not even seen the show:

“Somebody mentioned [the role] to me when I was on a red carpet somewhere, that I’d make a great Brianna, and I think [star Sam Heughan] retweeted it or something. So people started talking like I was in it. I’ve never seen the show. I’m sure it’s great, but I’m loyal to my one true love!”

We’re sure that “Outlander” will find someone great for the part when the time comes; we know already that Turner has quite a busy schedule of her own. In addition to her “one true love” over at HBO (which films at roughly the same time), she also is playing Jean Grey in the upcoming “X-Men” movie. This franchise has been very good to “Game of Thrones” stars already, since Peter Dinklage appeared in a major role during “Days of Future Past.”

Once we actually know who is playing Brianna on the show, rest assured we will have it for you here.
