‘Shark Tank’ review: PolarPro, GripClean, Unshrinkit, AfreSHeet

Shark Tank -Friday night’s new episode of “Shark Tank” featured a theme to it: Millennials. The people who were looking for investments all came from a particular generation. They are young, ambitious, and trying to solve problems. That’s what we really liked about this episode; there’s at least a function to all of these items, and most of them actually attempt to fix something that they believe is broken … at least to a certain extent.

We’re going to have updates throughout the night; stay tuned!

AfreSHeet – Is this revolutionizing the sheet industry? The moment that Lori Greiner poked a hole in it, we knew that there was trouble. We actually do think that the idea of sheets that you can pull off in the case of an accident is reasonably smart, but there’s almost zero sales. When the market speaks, unfortunately the market speaks. Maybe things would be different if it was a soft sheet rather than something disliked by the majority of the Tank. No deal.

Unshrinkit – Could this be a way to fix the shrinking-sweater problem? We do like it, but we also wonder whether or not there is a big enough market for it in the long term since nobody really thinks to buy something like this until after they have a problem. The outcome was what we found the most interesting here: It seemed like Mark Cuban got on board mostly because he took a flier on them as smart people. Who knows? If they came up with this, maybe they’ll come up with other big ideas.

GripClean – Is this a soap that people will actually want to use? This is interesting in that almost like Unshrinkit, we feel like a Shark really took advantage of an idea more so than a proven concept. This time, it was Lori Greiner. We don’t blame her for this, given that we said before the episode that she’d be a perfect investor since she really knows this sort of market very well and could get it rolling out places quickly.

PolarPro – Could this be a go-to destination for camera / drone accessories? It could be. It’s clearly the most proven company of this group, and there was absolutely no reason for a Shark to not want to bite on the deal. Everything is really in place already, and with both Mark and Robert Herjavec on board, it’s pretty clear to say that this could easily be making tens of millions in a few years.
