‘Chicago Fire’ season 4, episode 5 reaction: What is next for Casey, Dawson?

Chicago Fire -What Dawson and Casey have been through on “Chicago Fire” as of late has been nothing short of horrible. The two were starting to get used to the idea of expecting a child, only for that to be taken away from them. Now, they are both emotionally trying to recover, but the good news for the couple is that the plan is to keep them together rather than have these particular circumstances tear them apart.

Speaking after Tuesday night’s new episode to TVLine, executive producer Matt Olmstead made it clear that losing the baby is something that will actually allow the two to become stronger as a couple, rather than just tearing them apart:

“It’s a bit of a reset for their relationship … They’re still a couple, and we have storylines coming up that are going to further galvanize them as a couple. But this isn’t the beginning of the end for them because of what happened. It brings them together more closely.”

This is not a guarantee by any means that the two are going to be together permanently, but we have to think that if the show breaks them up again, it’s going to be a fairly unpopular decision. They have to justify to many of their fans the back-and-forth of it all, and depriving us a chance to see two people who are certainly beloved by many of the fans happy. You cannot just keep doing the same thing over and over again, and in this instance, keeping the two together and exploring the relationship is bringing something different to the table.
