Ratings: ‘Wicked City’ sinks more; ‘Chicago Fire’ rises alongside ‘The Voice’ (11/10/2015)

Chicago Fire -We know that the new cool thing for networks to do is to “trim” episode orders rather than cancel shows, but here’s to thinking that ABC may have to go with more of a close shave with “Wicked City.” More on that in a moment…

The winners – Let’s start by praising “Chicago Fire,” which rose to a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic that is a more than 15% increase from the week before. What’s the reason for that? Oh, it’s probably due to a little something known as “The Voice” (2.8), which aired a recap episode last week rather than something relevant to the competition. “Chicago Fire” for one reason or another leads out of “The Voice” really well, and hopefully next week it and “Chicago Med” can prove to be some sort of formidable competition.

While there was not much of a rise, we do want to point out that “The Flash” (1.5) handily defeated “Agents of SHIELD” (1.3) this week by its largest margin since its series premiere, where it had a pretty-incredible-for-The-CW 1.9.

The losers – Now, let’s return again to “Wicked City” somehow still being in the air with a 0.4 rating. We can almost guarantee that it will not be on the air with that next week. While we understand that “Agents of SHIELD” is no behemoth, losing two-thirds of its total and then some is deplorable. Repeats of other shows like “Quantico” are anything by Shonda Rhimes should at least perform just as well.

Also, both “The Muppets” (1.2) and “Fresh Off the Boat” (1.3) each fell by more than 15%. That’s not great news, especially given all of the behind-the-scenes changes that are happening at “The Muppets” right now.
