‘Saturday Night Live’ preview: Elizabeth Banks brings the funny with Kenan Thompson

For those of you who felt either tired or burnt-out by the time you made it to the end of “Saturday Night Live” this past episode hosted by Donald Trump, we are coming to you today with the antidote: Your first look at the promo for the next new episode of the show! This one is hosted by none other than Elizabeth Banks, someone who has a reputation for comedy that is almost sterling.

Like we said last night in our new show podcast with Jason Prager, Banks is almost the antithesis of Trump in every way. While she does have a role in the “Hunger Games” movies, she is probably the least-well-known of the hosts so far this season, and therefore it’s incredibly unlikely that she will get the ratings that the Presidential candidate did. However, the odds are infinitely higher that the show will be of a better quality. While Banks has never hosted before, we imagine that she has to be at least familiar with many of the cast members, and she has a reputation for delivering in everything from “The 40-Year Old Virgin” to “Wet Hot American Summer.”

The musical guest for this show is Disclosure, and you might see them in the event that NBC releases another promo. For now, just enjoy this one featuring Banks and cast member Kenan Thompson. It’s mildly funny, or at least about as funny as a promo for this show can be. They always save their better stuff for the show over the weekend.

For those who haven’t heard, former host Matthew McConaughey will be coming back for the last show of the month a week from Saturday. Therefore, we’re closing things out with people who are at least familiar to this industry already.
