‘Finding Carter’ season 2, episode 18 review: Will Carter’s actions catch up to her?

When we last left off with MTV’s “Finding Carter,” there were quite a few things that we learned. For one, Elizabeth was well aware of Carter’s new job, and she had convinced herself that she was okay with it. Meanwhile, Carter’s relationship with Bartender Jared heated up, but behind her back we learned through his interactions with Ben that he was a not-so-nice guy.

This sentiment continued very much Tuesday night, though her relationship with him only continued to grow stronger as she spent the night with him, and he seemed to be increasingly uncaring of the fact that he could be arrested for so many things. While all of this went down Taylor lied to her mom about what was going on … though she has to know something is off at the moment with Carter and Lori in particular. (The conversation Elizabeth overheard between Carter and Ben at the end of the episode probably does not help matters in the slightest.)

Now, let’s move into the next chapter in the saga of Gabe, Max, and Taylor. She finally made it clear precisely what it was that Gabe did to help her after the college visit, and Max was (sort of) okay with it as a result. He was grateful in a way that she was there, but the reality still was that this entire ordeal was taking its toll on him.

Did this episode accomplish enough to satisfy us? We’re not sure that we made any huge leaps or bounds, but clearly we’re setting up for a big confrontation with Carter and Elizabeth over Lori. Let’s just hope that this happens soon to liven things up after what we felt was a fairly-dull hour. Grade: C+.
