‘Blue Bloods’ season 6 spoilers: A different sort of undercover case for Jamie, Eddie

Blue Bloods season 6For the most part, “Blue Bloods” is a show that relies mostly on super-serious, gritty stories. However, there is something to us that sounds very entertaining about seeing Jamie and Eddie go undercover as people who are very different from themselves. We don’t want to give it away; instead, check out the synopsis below for the November 20 episode entitled “Hold Outs”:

“A homicide case ends in a hung jury, Erin is forced to take over the case from her colleague, ADA Kelly Blake (Diane Neal), and with the help of DA investigator Anthony Abetemarco (Steve Schirripa), find a missing witness. Also, Jamie and Eddie go undercover as an elderly couple to catch a gang that is terrorizing a neighborhood.”

What we like about seeing this sort of story for Jamie and Eddie, aside from it bringing them closer together, is that it strips them of some of their physical faculties and forces them to think more intellectually. Undercover work is always difficult as a police officer, but it is even more so when you are having to be people who are extremely different from who you are in day-to-day life.

Here’s one thing that saddens us ever so slightly: Neal is not appearing on this show as Abigail Borin, the same role she plays in the “NCIS” franchise. We still like to envision in our head that all of these shows are linked, that way there could someday be some giant crossover if Gibbs and company were ever in New York.
