‘The Blacklist’ season 3 spoilers: What ‘Kings of the Highway’ means for Liz, Red

The Blacklist logo any seasonThe first thing that we find strange about the upcoming November 19 episode of “The Blacklist” comes in the name itself: “Kings of the Highway.” The majority of the episode names this season have been singular Blacklisters / characters who are important to the direction of the season. It’s possible that the Kings of the Highway are some sort of mysterious biker gang with extraordinary abilities, but even if that is the case, this is still a slight modification from what the show typically gives us.

Today, NBC released in full the synopsis for this episode, which makes it clear that Liz and Red are going to have to spend at least a little bit of time apart:

“Red (James Spader) and Liz (Megan Boone) are unexpectedly separated from each other when Red falls into a dangerous situation. Samar (Mozhan Marno) makes a risky decision to help Liz while Tom (Ryan Eggold) and Cooper (Harry Lennix) continue on their expedition to exonerate Liz.”

What this synopsis tells us already is that the show is still not hurrying the story along when it comes to clearing Liz’s name, and we have to be honest: We’ll be rather fine if they don’t do it at any point soon. Sure, we don’t want the show to become “The Fugitive” or change its DNA permanently, but there is no sense in rushing things along just to make the show a little more similar to the one that may remember from past years.
