Anyone who has watched “Castle” intently over the past several weeks will know that for the time being, we are not exactly seeing our leading man in a position where he can properly celebrate his one-year anniversary with Beckett. Will there be moments like the one above on “The Last Seduction” when it airs next week? It’s hard to imagine them when you consider that the two apart, and for the inexplicable reason that Beckett wants to “protect” him, even though these sort of justifications have never bore fruit on any other show ever.
We don’t want to harp too long on our frustrations with this story; instead, let’s just get to sharing what executive producer Alexi Hawley had to say on the subject of the anniversary to Entertainment Weekly. He admits that having the two characters apart made figuring out the right way to commemorate the occasion difficult:
“That was our challenge coming into that episode obviously given the perameters of what we’ve set up. What we have to keep in mind is that, even with the obstacle in their way, both of them are still desperately in love with each other. So the want is there, it’s just about figuring out if there can be a how, so we definitely wanted to stay true to the obstacle, but at the same time, maybe give them a way to figure out how to celebrate.”
This interview also contains more hype for the episode airing on November 23 entitled “Mr. & Mrs. Castle,” which will be the fall finale. Nobody has confirmed that Rick and Kate will be getting back together officially then, but we continue to hold out hope that we are at least heading in that direction.
