‘The Walking Dead’ season 6, episode 6 review: Norman Reedus takes us on a journey

The Walking DeadWe are going into our third episode of “The Walking Dead” since Glenn was left for dead and we can feel the fans getting restless. Why are they dragging this out so long, especially since there seems to be quite a bit of evidence floating around the internet that Glenn isn’t actually dead? Two weeks ago we had an episode all about Morgan’s back story (which we loved) and last week was all about the people we don’t really know (or care about) from Alexandria. We are also trying to not think about the fact that we had no Carol, Daryl, Sasha or Abraham for a few weeks now. Luckily, tonight’s episode is going to give us Norman Reedus in spades!

While Daryl, Sasha and Abraham are on the road leading the walker horde away from Alexandria, they get chased down and shot at by unknown assailants and it separates them as Daryl gets driven off on his own. He’s bleeding from getting shot at, so he covers up his motorcycle, grabs his cross bow and heads out into the woods to see what he can find… which is a group of people that knock him out and bring him back to their camp. When he gets a chance, he breaks free from them, stealing their back pack, but when he opens it he sees that there is a medical kit in it that one of the women need to survive. He decides to go back and give them the pack, but just as he’s about to leave a truck pulls into the woods and pushes the threesome to give back “what they took”. Daryl decides to help them escape and after gaining his trust (and finding Daryl’s bike) they rob him a second time, taking his cross bow and his bike.

We also saw Abraham and Sasha bunker down (while waiting for Daryl to return) in a place that he could see staying at permanently. More then that he admits to Sasha that he is starting to feel more for her and wants to get closer to her, hoping that she may want to split from the group and settle down in the place that they found. Is Sasha interested in Abraham? She tried to play coy, but he called her out and said that he can tell that she’s interested in him too.  Although we haven’t seen anything physical between them yet, it looks like it may be going in that direction and while we may not have thought of these two getting together, they have gone through some pretty similar things emotionally and it kind of makes some sense. So are they going to stay there and play house? Not at this point – Daryl rolls up in truck he found and they all head back to Alexandria.

Of course there was no news on Glenn and we suspect there might not be until the second half of the season, but we were happy to get an episode that focused on some of our main people instead of the new group at Alexandria that we really don’t care much for. Episode grade: B+
