‘The Walking Dead’ season 6, episode 5 reaction: Lauren Cohan on big Maggie reveal, if Glenn knew

The bad news on Sunday night’s new episode of “The Walking Dead” is that you did not exactly learn a whole lot about Glenn’s fate. However, you did receive a rather healthy dose of information in regards to Maggie: The character is pregnant! This is something that ties back into the very beginning of the season, and a discussion that the two characters had via whisper. This is why Glenn encouraged her to stay back rather than go out and brave what was going on outside of the town.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter after tonight’s episode, Lauren Cohan confirmed that this was specifically what the whisper was all about, and she also explained a little bit of a thought process behind the two planning for their future:

“It’s definitely a big theme: what parameters do you put on yourself and as a couple — which is what we saw earlier this season. In that episode when they whisper to each other, that’s what that is. That’s actually when Steven [Yeun] and I found out [about Maggie’s pregnancy], too. It’s not a shock because we’ve seen these characters talk about wanting to be pregnant and what that would mean — during season three, when they thought they might be pregnant. It’s been a simmering pot in the back of their minds. I feel like Maggie and Glenn are in tandem with the audience during these stories.”

So moving forward, you can probably expect to see more of Maggie planning ahead … and hopefully in the near future we’ll figure out whether or not Glenn is there to join her. The fact that the show has made us wait two episodes so far is rather frustrating.
