‘Chicago PD’ season 3 spoilers: Are Voight’s social ties about to jeopardize a case?

For a guy who is in so many ways so gruff and jaded by his past, Voight still manages to have quite a few connections on “Chicago PD.” Also, many of them seem to have terrible things happening to them. (This may be why he is so jaded in the first place.)

On the upcoming November 18 episode of the show, the last one before the series departs on a Thanksgiving break, you will see in “Never Forget I Love You” a case where his personal feelings and his history with a victim could jeopardize an investigation. Not only that, but we’re going to see the complicated story of Olinsky continue with a few more twists and turns. Take a look at the synopsis below:

“When the decapitated body of a woman found in Lake Michigan is connected to Voight’s (Jason Beghe) social circle, Lindsay (Sophia Bush) fears his relationship with the group may hinder his ability to approach the case objectively. Roman (Brian Geraghty) is having a hard time coping with recent events and an error in judgment causes him to make a grave mistake. Meanwhile, Olinsky (Elias Koteas) becomes upset when Antonio (Jon Seda) doesn’t consultant him before making a decision that could affect Michelle’s (guest star Madison McLaughlin) future.”

Given that we are getting near the end of the show’s 2015 run, let’s hope that there are a few surprises for us, and maybe even (gasp!) some happy moments? We don’t necessarily think giving characters temporary joy negates them from hard times down the road.
