ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 5 spoilers: First look at fall finale!

For everyone who was wondering how much longer “Scandal” is going to be airing new episodes this fall, the answer is “not long at all.” By the time we get around to the end of this month the show is going to be off the air, so here is to hoping that they wrap things up with something outstanding!

While we’re not quite sure just yet the November 19 fall finale (entitled “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”) is going to be holiday-themed, the title certainly suggests that it could be. The synopsis below certainly does not have a whole lot of holiday cheer to it, mostly in that it hints at some problems that are going to be coming soon soon for Olivia Pope at the White House:

“Olivia is feeling more and more frustrated as she takes on “First Lady” type responsibilities at the White House. Meanwhile, Mellie proves just how powerful she can be and Jake and Huck continue the hunt for Rowan.”

What is somewhat interesting to us at this point is that we’re not entirely sure that there is a time when Olivia will not feel more like Mellie than she has within the White House, and yet at the same time, Mellie is out to potentially destroy her and Fitz once and for all. By “feeling like Mellie,” we mostly mean more than anything else having to deal with the bureaucracy, with people watching your every move, and with everyone expecting you to fall in line with the President on every little thing.
