‘The Walking Dead’ season 6, episode 5 review: Is Maggie pregnant and did she find Glenn?

The Walking DeadLast week on “The Walking Dead” we had a full episode dedicated to Morgan, and while not everyone loved this episode, we totally did! With Rick and Morgan being the original two survivors that we met in the first season, Morgan has always been an enigma to us and someone that we wanted to know more about. When we saw him a few seasons back holed up in an apartment all crazy, we were shocked to see him completely transformed this season, so we loved seeing an episode that was dedicated to telling that story. That’s what “The Walking Dead” really is to us… great character stories.

This week, we are back in the thick of things as half of this massive walker horde has found it’s way to Alexandria… and so has Rick. Last time we saw Rick he was holding a wounded hand (was he bit or just hurt, no one knows and they didn’t touch on it) and trapped in a mobile home getting attacked by people, but he’s back in town and trying to come up with a new plan to deal with the walkers pushing against their walls as well as helping clean up all the dead wolves. Also… they need to stop pushing this Rick and Jessie romance story, it’s just not working, the chemistry isn’t there.

Maggie isn’t willing to wait for Glenn to come back, not after Michonne coming back without him, but she’s not going alone, Aaron is coming with her. Unfortunately they get blocked and can’t get around the walker horde outside the walls. She reveals to Aaron that she’s pregnant!!! So even if we lose Glenn, maybe we will have a little Glenn to give us hope for the future. Speaking of Glenn, we have now waited two weeks to find out if he’s really dead or not and still… nothing.

There was a lot of focus tonight on the new people – the Spencer’s and the Bruce’s and the others that we have a hard time caring about. After waiting two weeks to find out about Rick’s hand and if Glenn is dead, there was a lot of time spent on characters we just have a hard time investing ourselves in. The only thing we were really happy to see when it comes to the new people was Denise make a move on Tara as they shared a kiss, but other then that, they are having a really hard time getting us invested in any of the Alexandrites. Episode grade: C
