‘Chicago PD’ season 3, episode 6 reaction: How will Lindsay and Halstead’s relationship be different?

During Wednesday night’s two-part episode of “Chicago PD,” we had a chance to witness Lindsay and Halstead finally make a decision when it comes to the status of their relationship. What are they doing? Think of it more along the lines of “all systems go.” They realize that there is a sort of inherent risk that comes with giving this a try, but they are ready to embrace it even though things did not work the first time around?

After the two decided to have something closer to a public relationship this time around on Wednesday, it looks like they are going to take things slowly, while also hopefully avoiding situations like the one you see in the photo above. In speaking on their future, executive producer Matt Olmstead tells The Hollywood Reporter about some of what they have planned:

“It reflects what they’ve been through on the show, in particular her loss with Nadia. Not only the kind of devastation she felt, but she went through it without Halstead. She rejected him wholesale and the ol’ adage of, ‘You don’t know what you got ’till it’s gone’ – she appreciates him as a friend, as a partner and as a boyfriend. She’s not really, nor is he, ready to jump the broom so to speak. But in terms of just being there for each other, we haven’t had it on the show for awhile because of what she’s been there and what he’s been there so it’s nice to revisit it.”

Of course, the two getting together is no guarantee that they will still that way, but we do think this is something the show will at least explore for a while. They’re one of those TV relationships that help each other on so many different levels that is valuable for them to find a way to keep it going … at least if it is possible.
