NBC’s ‘The Voice’ video: Darius Scott, Morgan Frazier face off for Pharrell

Monday night’s new episode of “The Voice” (airing at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time) will continue the Knockout Rounds, and the video below showcases two artists from Team Pharrell Williams who couldn’t be more different: Darius Scott and Morgan Frazier. One of them is soulful and suave, and the other is pure country.

If we had to telegraph the results of this battle based on precisely what we’re seeing here, it would go somewhat like this:

1. Darius wins the Battle.

2. Blake Shelton steals Morgan.

Pretty easy to figure out, right? Blake does have a history of stealing back people he previously got rid of, and Pharrell may be more comfortable working with someone in Darius whose music fits more into his own wheelhouse. It’s difficult to compare the two when it comes to quality. We feel like Darius hits every single note in his performance, but “On Broadway” isn’t the sort of song choice that inspires confidence that he will be a current performer in the live shows that gets a lot of votes from people at home. Morgan feels much more current, even if at the same time we’re not sure how much this separated her from other good female country singers we’ve seen over the years. Both are pretty talented, so there is no way we can see this going bad.

For Darius, we’re just glad to see him getting a little bit more screen time in this round versus what he had in the Battles.
