‘NCIS’ season 13 spoilers: ‘Bionic Woman’ alum Lindsay Wagner to play Bishop’s mom

 

Back during “NCIS” season 12, we had a great chance to get to know the character of Bishop better thanks to the arrival of “Battlestar Galactica” alum Jamie Bamber in the role of her husband Jake. Now, are you read to meet her mother? We certainly hope so!

As first reported by TVLine, former “Bionic Woman” star Lindsay Wagner is poised to appear on at least one episode of the crime procedural’s thirteenth season as the aforementioned character. Her only confirmed appearance right now will come during the November 24 Thanksgiving episode, where Ellie travels back to Oklahoma after has clearly been a tumultuous time on the job with the NCIS team.

In a statement explaining the casting, executive producer Gary Glasberg had the following to say:

“I’m super excited about it, because I’m a huge Lindsay Wagner fan going back to The Paper Chase, … Also, a bunch of our line producers worked on The Rockford Files, and not many people know this but she was actually in that pilot. So there is all kinds of behind-the-scenes enthusiasm. And Lindsay is excited, too.”

This should be a fun guest spot, and if nothing else, this does mark a tremendous opportunity to see a little bit more of the world of the show than we have to date. Anytime that there is a sensible way to introduce a character tied to one of our regulars, we’re all for it. The only way that we would not enjoy it is if it was shoehorned in for the sake of ratings,
