‘Shameless’ season 6 spoilers: See logline, new poster for Emmy Rossum series

The sixth season of “Shameless” is getting set to premiere on Sunday, January 10 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, and take our word for it when we say that this season looks to find a way to once again up the ante with bizarre drama and character misadventures. Last season, we had such events take place as Fiona trying to figure out multiple relationships (including a marriage), Frank starting to think that he had found a soulmate, and Sasha Alexander in a very different role of role than we’re accustomed to seeing from her.

While we cannot say in explicit terms how the show plans to top all of this, we imagine that it will in some ways be more of the same dialed up to 11. Showtime’s logline gives you a quick taste:

“Season six of Shameless picks up a few months after last year’s finale, leaving the Gallaghers to prepare for yet another long Chicago winter. This season will see more than just the arctic Lake Michigan winds whipping through the Southside. Change is hard and the Gallaghers are as surprised as anyone at how life is turning out for them. But the question remains, as they come into their own and find out who they are, is it really possible that the Gallaghers could grow apart for good?”

The image above is the retro new poster the network released, and it’s a lot of fun … mostly because we like to think that this is how the Gallagher clan probably would act if they were in the 1970’s.
