‘Agent Carter’ season 2 spoilers: Kurtwood Smith of ‘That 70’s Show,’ ‘Resurrection’ signs up

There has not necessarily been that much in the way of enormous “Agent Carter” casting news over the course of the past couple of days, but we are very much pleased to change that around with the following.

Sources confirm that former “That 70’s Show” and “Resurrection” star Kurtwood Smith, who you may also know from “RoboCop,” has officially signed up for the second season of the ABC series in the role of Vernon Masters, a man with a substantial amount of experience in the War Department. He is an incredibly smart guy, and someone who could be potentially a key cog in the story that lies ahead … with an emphasis on “potentially,” since nothing is anywhere close to confirmed just yet.

There is no major record of a character existing in the Marvel universe by this specific name, so some good guesses here are that either this is an entirely new character, or one that is being modified based on a little bit of source material here or there.

The second season of this show is not going to premiere on Netflix until early next year, so we imagine that there could be a wide array of different stories announced about it until then. The biggest thing to note is that Hayley Atwell and company are going to be out in Los Angeles this time, and as a result you can probably expect a wide array of different characters and surprises being in store for them. We’ll have some other updates soon.
