The results component on “Dancing with the Stars” Monday had some serious drama to it. There were two Stars going home, and for many of us, one of the biggest questions was going to be in jeopardy alongside Paula Deen and Louis van Amstel. We actually thought that this was a double-elimination tonight, but that was thankfully not the case and some of the drama surrounding the remaining stars will have to wait.
Yes, in the end it was Paula and Louis who went home, and while the internet would’ve had some truly crazy commentary going on had she stayed over Alexa PenaVega, this was the right result. Paula had lasted for a few weeks and likely had a little bit of fun in the process. However, it was definitely time for her to go. She was never going to get many fans beyond those she had going into this, and her routines weren’t getting better.
Now, we’re in a really interesting position given that we’ve got a top eight where almost anyone could go home at any given moment. Maybe Hayes Grier and Alexa are in the worst shape going into next week, but with scores being so close, what’s going to matter more than anything else will be getting the love of America. We’ll give you further analysis of all of this during the week.
Ultimately, Paula says that she is happy to be going home to see her grandchildren … she knew she wasn’t going to win this, even though she tried her best.
