‘The Walking Dead’ season 6, episode 2 reaction: Melissa McBride on Carol’s killing spree

Carol -

Well, we suppose everyone knows at this point that Carol is capable of doing way more than just bake really good cookies in Alexandria’s kitchens. On Sunday night’s new episode of “The Walking Dead,” we saw her undergo a pretty dramatic transformation into both a killing machine and a secret member of the Wolves, all in order to ensure that she could understand the group better.

Melissa McBride was sensational as always during this particular story, and speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about whether or not she can go back to the person she once was in the town, she makes it clear that almost no one can go back to who they were before this latest attack in the town:

“Her cover is blown now and I think that’s OK. We’ll have to wait and see how the Alexandrians respond to her and we’ll come to see how they respond to her — and also to having that normalcy that everybody looked forward to. It was so hopeful and wonderful but it only lasted for a few minutes and now that’s been blown, too. That parallels her cover being blown and the idea of that normalcy being blown. That’s now hit home that this is the world you’re living in and the Alexandrians are seeing it first hand. The illusion is coming down all around.”

Personally, we feel like it is very much a good thing that Alexandria has someone like Carol in their corner who knows a thing or about big transformations, and can help them figure out how to deal with this changing world. Not all of them are going to make it to the other side, but those who commit to the cause at least have a chance.
