‘Madam Secretary’ season 2 spoilers: First news on ‘The Long Shot’

Through the next several weeks, “Madam Secretary” on CBS is going to take you down a tricky road when it comes to Elizabeth and her dealings with the Russian government. These are people who do have a tendency to have a very specific way for how they want to go about doing business, and some of the suggestions that Elizabeth makes, coupled with some upheaval in the country, could lead to some tension forming between her and President Dalton.

You will see some of this tension play out over the next few episodes, but by the time we make it to the upcoming episode “The Long Shot” airing on November 1, we may see the characters in a slightly different position. The synopsis below offers up some insight, with a warning for spoilers, into how they have to come together in order to help prepare for the worst:

“In the wake of President Ostrov’s death, Elizabeth and President Dalton fear a power grab within the Russian government. Also, the government’s Cybersecurity Coordinator Oliver Shaw (Kobi Libii) works to identify the hacker who interfered with the communication system on Air Force One, and Jay devises a plan to fight Russian propaganda.”

There is no word on what Henry or Stevie are going to be up to in this episode, though we know that a little later this month Elizabeth’s daughter is going to learn in a most unfortunate fashion just how invasive and ruthless the media can be when it comes to your personal life.
