‘The X Factor’ UK: Mason Noise, Nick Grimshaw on official return

The latest news -Who would’ve thought that “The X Factor” would have gotten such a meal out of all of the drama with Mason Noise? This is a guy who was officially kicked off the stage by Simon Cowell over the weekend at the Six Chair Challenge, but is now getting another shot on Nick Grimshaw’s team of Boys following the sudden departure of Tom Bleasby. Sure, this all feels like a little bit of a ratings stunt, but our feeling is that Mason was actually a super-talented guy and had he not argued with Simon over his air time, he probably would be at Judges’ Houses anyway.

Today, ITV released a pair of statements starting with one from Grimshaw, explaining why he has made the choice he has:

“After Tom decided to leave the show, Mason was the person I wanted to bring back. Yes he was difficult at the 6 Chair Challenge, but people with an artistic temperament can be difficult. He’s talented and in previous auditions excited us Judges. Sometimes a challenge is interesting.”

Meanwhile, they also attached a quote from Mason himself showing some sort of appreciation over getting this chance to perform again:

“I appreciate Nick inviting me back on the show. And even more so, I appreciate the fact he understands what I am trying to achieve… challenge accepted!”

When you look at the Boys category, he’s going to have a tough time cracking it to make it to the live shows. Josh Daniel has been the favorite almost from the start, and then you have people like Simon Lynch, Che Chesterman (probably the best pure singer of the group), and Seann Miley Moore. While Ben Clark has been under the radar, he does have a distinct tone to his voice.
