‘Dancing with the Stars 21’: Why is there no elimination this week?

DWTS -

For everyone watching this week’s “Dancing with the Stars,” we imagine there being one thing that is a little bit of a surprise: There is no elimination this week!

So what is going on here? We’d say that the lack of an elimination is more or less a function of the Switch Up twist. Since the Stars are not paired with their professional pros this week, it would be rather weird to see them eliminated with someone else … not to mention confusing. In keeping things simple like this, the show makes it a little bit easier. Two people will be eliminated on next week’s new episode, when everyone will be back with their original partners and scores from the past two weeks will be cumulative.

We’d complain more about this, but we’re personally happy that there are so many dancers making it deep into the season. It adds more variety to the show, and also less filler to go along with it. Granted, we know that there are always people out there ready to see a star or two go.

At the moment, it feels fair to say that Paula Deen is the person in the greatest amount of jeopardy moving into the next new episode. While Carlos PenaVega was “in jeopardy” going into Monday night’s new episode, we think that his performance for the most part is going to be enough to help him. This was his best routine of the season, and it wasn’t even close. Hopefully, we’ll have a better chance to analyze these results moving forward.
