TV Quick Hits: ‘Rosewood’ gets Taye Diggs; David Duchovny on ‘Twin Peaks’; ‘Fantasy Island’ reboot
Taye Diggs joins “Rosewood” – After spending some time playing doctor over on “Private Practice,” the actor has now found another reason to put on a stethoscope.
According to TVLine, Diggs (who was also recently a part of “The Good Wife”) is going to recur on the Fox drama as Rosewood’s good friend Dr. Mike Boyce. He works as an infectious disease doctor, and is going to have a little bit of tension with the title character over Detective Villa. There should be at least some juicy drama here!

“Fantasy Island” (maybe coming back) – Add this to the pile of unnecessary remakes. According to Deadline, ABC is considering bringing back the show with a new spin: The lead will now be a woman, and there won’t even be an island this time. Instead, she will run a San Francisco business working in ensure many characters’ dreams end up becoming a reality.
It’s hard to get that excited about yet another remake at least in theory, so in this case, we’re going to take some time to process it and see if it makes it to pilot with a cast.
Could David Duchovny appear in “Twin Peaks”? – This guy is currently king of nostalgia thanks to “The X-Files,” but he may also have another memorable TV role coming on “Twin Peaks.” He played transgender DEA agent Denise Bryson during the original run (albeit for only a few episodes), and it feels clear that there is a demand to have him back.
With that being said, will it happen? Duchovny was fairly mum about it to TVLine, but it sounds as though there have at least been discussions.
