“Dancing with the Stars” on Monday night is going to feature the return of the “Switch Up,” which forces the remaining Stars to be paired with different profession. This is going to be a challenge for many of them to figure out, especially given that there was already chemistry between many pairs, and it is not clear just how certain people are going to react to different coaching styles.
Thanks to an ABC press release, we now know just what these pairings will be.
Alek Skarlatos – Emma Slater.
Alexa PenaVega – Derek Hough.
Andy Grammer – Sharna Burgess.
Bindi Irwin – Val Chmerkovskiy.
Carlos PenaVega – Lindsay Arnold.
Hayes Grier – Allison Holker.
Nick Carter – Witney Carson.
Paula Deen – Mark Ballas.
Tamar Braxton – Louis van Amstel.
Out of these pairings, probably the big winners are Alexa Bindi, and Alek, who have three of the more-popular pros remaining in the competition. As for the pros, Louis has to be looking forward to dancing something a little more complicated after spending the season with Paula. Mark, on the flip side, has the hardest coaching task ahead of him working with someone who seems to be the opposite of Alexa in so many ways.
These pairings will not impact for the most part who goes home Monday; instead, they could make a huge impact on the results for the following week. If Paula goes home as suspected this week, the Switch Up could have some pretty big implications at the end of the day.
