‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5, episode 3 preview: The Dark Swan’s dilemma

Through two episodes so far of “Once Upon a Time,” we have definitely had a story that was its fair share of crazy. We’ve seen the birth of the Dark Swan as a proper villain, gotten our first real glimpse of Camelot, and a variety of other crazy things. To think, there is still so much more with this story for season 5 that is still to come!

The sneak peek below for Sunday night’s new episode is very much Emma-focused, and it specifically relies on one topic: The famous sword in the stone. Excalibur and the Dagger go hand in hand, but the problem here is that no magic she possesses is going to be able to pull this one. It is going to take a little bit of gusto from someone heroic to make it happen.

In the preview, the Rumpelstiltskin Evil Conscience (as we are choosing to call him) makes it relatively clear that Emma already knows who she needs to bring in so that this whole dilemma can be resolved. Who could it be? Captain Hook is someone we know that she is going to try to manipulate in this episode, but at the same exact time Regina is also more than capable of handling Savior duties. She has already carried that title this season, and there is a beautiful sort of parallel to the idea of her having to be the one to pull the sword after Emma carried the torch the first few seasons.
