ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 5 spoilers: Olivia’s crisis becomes even harder to handle

At the end of “Scandal” Thursday night, Olivia Pope made yet another controversial decision, and one that is likely going to stay with her for some time: She allowed Abby to openly trash her reputation and her credibility in a press conference. In Olivia’s mind, this was a way for her to declare to Fitz that she had chosen him, and she was willing to do what she could to ensure that his own life did not become hell.

Here’s the problem for Kerry Washington’s character at the moment: She may be able to prepare for a lot thanks to her job, but having all of Washington DC attacking her may be more than she is willing to handle. That is why on the upcoming October 22 episode entitled “You Got Served,” she may take drastic measures and seek assistance from someone whose identity is being kept a mystery for now. “Olivia knows she can’t handle this latest storm on her own and calls for help from an unexpected source. Meanwhile, Mellie and Cyrus continue to pull strings from the sidelines and Jake is still occupied by a ghost from his past.”

Obviously, there is a whole lot going on with the show at the moment, and we don’t anticipate that things are going to start to become easier anytime soon for Olivia. We just hope that whatever happens here doesn’t prohibit her relationship with Fitz too much, given that we’ve been waiting pretty much forever to even get to this point.
