‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 6, episode 3 video: Is the Steve – Catherine proposal finally here?

For all fans of McGarrett and Catherine on “Hawaii Five-0,” it is fair to say that there is excitement for Friday night’s new episode. You’ve waited more-than-likely for a long time to see whether or not he was going to get down on one knee and propose, and we know thanks to the promo below that at least something involving a ring is coming.

What we just did not expect was the process to get us here. If this was two seasons ago, we’d think that this moment was more of a formality. However, she was then written out most of last season, and the show has been lucky to have Michelle Borth around for much of season 6 so far. There’s just no guarantee that she is going to be staying around beyond this episode.

Even if McGarrett does go through with the proposal, what are the odds that she says yes? Does she have some unfinished business elsewhere? The truth is that while we can see these two working as a couple in the long-term, we could also envision some situations where the two end up going their separate ways again. There is just such a state of flux with this show.

Regardless of whatever does happen in this particular episode, we do hope that Steve finds happiness before the end of the series with someone he can see himself with forever. What the show may need to realize at the moment is that with syndication already secured and with low ratings, they may not have a season 7. Therefore, they may need to resolve this sooner rather than later.
