‘The Walking Dead’ season 6: Norman Reedus enjoys mystery of Daryl’s love life

Daryl -

The Walking Dead” season 6 starts Sunday on AMC, and there are few characters who get fans excited quite like Daryl Dixon. Everyone loves the crossbow, the performance by Norman Reedus, and much of the mystery surrounding the guy. This includes all of the constant questions that are out there surrounding his love life, and whether or not Daryl is into Carol, is a virgin, is gay, or anything else. We’ve heard every theory out there over the past couple of years.

We personally subscribe to the “Daryl is a virgin and emotionally stunted in love” theory, but in general, we’re not sure that we will ever have an answer. As a matter of fact, it doesn’t even seem like Norman Reedus is in a hurry to find out. Speaking in a new interview with Details, he explains that he finds some joy in the ambiguity of it all:

“Even this season, I’m the last in line for love … I like not going through that door one way or another. I like that mystery.”

Also in this interview, Reedus also makes it clear that even though “The Walking Dead” does have a habit of killing off the majority of its main characters, he has no plans to say goodbye to playing Daryl anytime soon (at least provided that he has any say in it, since it is ultimately the responsibility of Scott M. Gimple to figure this out:

“They’ll kill me whenever they want. I would hate to leave the show. I would play this role until I’m 80, I really would. And I could.”
