‘Criminal Minds’ season 11, episode 2 preview: Sneak peek featuring Marisol Nichols, Aisha Tyler

For the second episode of “Criminal Minds” season 11, we are seeing a story that is taking the BAU to Los Angeles, where they in turn are forced to focus on a particularly deadly attack involved sarin gas. Are we on the cusp of a city-wide outbreak? That is what the team has to figure out, and for the most part, we have confidence they’ll figure it out. After all, this is not “Fear the Walking Dead” we are talking about here.

The sneak peek video below is useful in introducing you to Marisol Nichols (“NCIS,” “Teen Wolf”) as FBI Agent Natalie Colfax, who is going to be working with the team on the case on the West Coast. New arrival Dr. Tara Lewis (Aisha Tyler) is also making the trip.

From a production point of view, we’re sure that the “Criminal Minds” crew probably appreciated the opportunity to actually set this episode in the same city that it is filmed in, since they don’t have to work so hard to pretend the show is set elsewhere. Granted, with most filming taking place on the studio line, it’s probably not as big of a deal as it would be for a show that is out on location more than this one is.

Unfortunately, this preview does not give you much of a sense as to where this story is going, but based on the fact that we are talking about sarin gas of all things, it is not too hard to imagine that this will eventually become a race against time to ensure that there are not similar attacks spreading throughout the city.
