Before we get deeper into this article on “The Blacklist,” let’s start things off here by offering some congratulations to the winner of our recent contest! We recently gave away a copy of the season 2 Blu-Ray, and hopefully we’ll get a chance to do some more fun stuff with this and other shows soon.
Now, let’s get into discussing the opening scene below. This is a chance to see Liz Keen and Raymond Reddington start what is their epic new escape from the FBI, and they do so using some rather interesting means. Specifically, they do not even make an effort to escape Washington DC, at least at first. Instead, they come up with a rather unique way in order to escape the watchful gaze of the team by using a tow-truck to their advantage.
In between the music and the escape tactics, this is a really fun way to start this season! We’d rather like it if the show stayed a little bit closer to this tone, mostly since it gives you the sort of feel where Liz and Red are the likable outlaws looking to stir things up in the world. We’re always down for a little bit more adventure on this show, and we like to think of this preview as the beginnings of that. So much more is likely to come over the rest of the episode.
One other fun moment during the preview? Hearing everything from Twitter to Instagram to Reddit getting a mention. Look at the writers being hip!
