While the first season of “Fear the Walking Dead” may only be six episodes long, AMC is still coming up with as many innovative ways as possible  to expand their brand. This means the creation of “Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462,” a web series that is going to chronicle a flight that takes place at the start of the zombie outbreak.

At first, it seems as though everything aboard this flight is perfectly normal … but it is discovered over time that someone is infected. Chaos erupts, and this is going to be one of the most horrifying zombie situations that we’ve seen yet. One character from this web series will make their way to “Fear the Walking Dead” season 2, where he or she will be a major character moving forward.

As for the airing schedule for the web series, you are going to get a chance to see the first installment online after the “Fear the Walking Dead” finale next week. You will also have a chance to check out these episodes during commercial breaks for “The Walking Dead” season 6. In a statement, Joel Stillerman, president of original programming and development for AMC / SundanceTV, had the following to say:

“‘Flight 462’ is a great extension of the world of ‘Fear’ and will engage fans across multiple platforms with another riveting story set at the start of the fall of civilization … We are thrilled to be collaborating with Dave Erickson and David Wiener on another piece of original content. Watching how they’ll bring one of these new characters to the second season of ‘Fear’ will be really exciting for viewers to follow.”
