‘Shark Tank’ video: McClary Bros. Drinking Vinegars and Ashton Kutcher

Shark Tank -Friday night’s season premiere of “Shark Tank” is almost upon us, and the more that we see of the episode, the more we are starting to get a sense of how the show wants to market this: They are really pushing guest Shark Ashton Kutcher more so than the products.

We will start this off by saying this: We like Ashton a lot. He was one of the producers behind a show we previously appeared on in “Beauty and the Geek,” and without him working to putting together that show, maybe we wouldn’t be even doing what we are right now as a writer.

With that said, we’re not sure why the show really needs to push him as hard as they are given that millions are going to watch anyway, and we like the focus being more on the brands. Ashton does an impressive enough job in the episode (which ABC sent out early) that he doesn’t even need the extra promotion.

The product that you see briefly in here is McClary Bros. Drinking Vinegars, which is about as self-explanatory of a name as you are going to come across. The brand is put-together well based on what we’ve seen and we like their presentation; the question that you have to ask yourselves going into this episode (which you can preview all products for here) is market size. Are there enough people out there who care about drinking vinegar? Will this trend really pick up enough steam for it to become more than a niche brand? Tonight’s episode is not going to answer that.

We’ll have our full review of Friday night’s “Shark Tank” episode up a little bit later in the evening, so be on the lookout for that! Also, you can dive into getting some further TV news sent right to you over at the link here. (Photo: ABC.)
