‘Big Brother 17’ finale: Vanessa Rousso on big finish, Austin argument, more in backyard interview

VanessaIt is hard to deny that Vanessa Rousso was one of the big reasons why “Big Brother” this summer was something special. She played hard virtually from start to finish, was aggressive, and did just about everything that she could to make it to the end.

Unfortunately, her biggest flaw was just that she could never inspire confidence with anyone to have a final two deal with her that they’d want to keep. She was one of best players we’ve seen, but this one weakness kept her from winning. She spoke with Jeff Schroeder for the CBS live feeds in the backyard tonight, and we’ve got a few notable quotes. We’ll have more in an exclusive one-on-one tomorrow.

On her gameplay – “I gave this thing my blood, sweat, tears, agony. I have no regrets about the choices that I made … I’m trying not to come out of this depressed.”

On her crying – “All my tears are real.” There you go!

On her favorite moment – She talks so fast that it is hard to transcribe; basically, she said that her favorite moment of the show was her getting the revelation about the Twin Twist for the first time.

On keeping the twins in – “I was happy about it. It got me fear; it got me where I needed to be … We were tied going into the last thing. I had a question from Johnny Mac, the one person who I was never able to read … I, of course, missed the question about him.”

On getting Julia to pick Austin in that Veto – “I don’t know [how that happened].”

What was also interesting about this particular interview was that before it, she and Austin had a lengthy conversation where she tried to justify her moves and they seemed to make up after their rift. They’re okay!

In general, what we were most impressed about with this was that Vanessa seemed to be so much funnier and open here than we saw in the Diary Room at times this season. We’re more excited than ever to chat with her!
