‘Big Brother 17’ finale review: Is Steve Moses, Vanessa Rousso, or Liz Nolan the winner? (Live updates)

Big Brother -

This has been a long and at-times crazy season of “Big Brother,” and while the past few days on the live feeds have been reasonably boring, we really cannot contain our excitement for this episode. We hoped that this would be an awesome and exciting hour and a half, and come the 40-minute mark of the finale, we started to think that the show was going to meet that potential.

Here was the situation: After we got through the first two parts of the final HoH and also the solid jury segment featuring Dr. Will, Steve won the final part of the competition! With that, he had a chance to make a decision as to who he wanted to take to the final two. His entire game really depended on his decision. He had practiced a speech where he got rid of Vanessa, but did he have it in him to do it? He did!

Here’s the thing we really want to say, and that is MAJOR props to Vanessa. Given how we’ve seen her react to things this season, we thought she wouldn’t be such a good sport. She would have evicted Steve, so she has nothing against him for the move.

The jury questions – For the most part, we feel like the perception of Steve was a little off. Also, why didn’t Vanessa even get to ask something? We feel like third place should merit at least that, and she could have helped to illuminate more of his strategic game this season. Liz’s primary argument was “I have a twin,” but she did have Austin fighting for her.

Final speeches – Steve did a pretty great job! Maybe he was a little too cutthroat with it, but this was a much better speech for him than it was for Liz. However, we’re a little concerned about the votes: We’re not sure James cared, and Vanessa makes us a little bit worried.

Now, let’s just get to the votes: Steve is the champ! He seemed to get every vote other than Vanessa, Julia, and Austin’s. We’re a little shocked about Vanessa’s vote most of all, but it doesn’t really matter.
