‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 12, episode 1 preview: Richard’s ‘tour’; Callie’s new patient

We have spent a good deal of time as of late discussing the Meredith Grey story moving into the Thursday premiere of “Grey’s Anatomy,” so isn’t this the right time that we start to at least look at what some of the other characters are going to be up to? We like to think so, and this is for the most part what the sneak peeks below are all about.

1. Richard gives a tour – Before making a presentation a little later in the day, Dr. Webber seems fairly enthusiastic about taking a new arrival on a tour around the hospital. Also, he seems very enthusiastic in not having Dr. Bailey go with him. What is he trying to hide? Webber is sometimes a tricky character to read like this.

2. Callie’s new patient – There are two women who are going to be hospitalized during the premiere after suffering some serious injuries. It is unclear how exactly some of these bruises came about, but all early suspicions (plus a press release from ABC) suggest that they came as a result of bullying. Judging from Callie’s facial reaction, it feels clear already that this hits close to home to her to a certain degree. As a whole, we know that this story is going to make many of the doctors revisit some of their own history in bullying, whether you are talking about being the person bullied or even doing the bullying themselves.

Sometimes, you just have to remember that people are not perfect. These doctors are far from that. (For those wondering, we don’t know what’s going with the emoji thing at the start of this.)
