‘Dancing with the Stars 21’ results: Was Chaka Khan or Gary Busey the first star eliminated?

dwtsGoing into the first “Dancing with the Stars” premiere, it was pretty hard in many ways to gauge who would be leaving the competition first. You had several people with lower scores, and thanks to the divide between some of the pairs it felt almost assured to us that someone in the group of Victor Espinoza, Paula Deen, Chaka Khan, Kim Zolciak, or Gary Busey would be the first one out. Many of them are memorable performers, but those scores have to come back to haunt them at some point.

So who was sent home tonight? The couples announced in jeopardy came quickly, and it was over before we knew it. Gary Busey and Chaka Khan were the last two “in jeopardy”on the night, and during the super-rushed elimination we learned that the end was here for Chaka and Keo Motsepe. We feel bad mostly for Keo, who never gets to last long in these seasons!

We thought that Chaka probably would have benefited from being a music icon, and could have received a little more love from America than she did. Unfortunately, we just think that she is too far removed from some of her hits, and she has a pro dancer who just hasn’t been around long enough to be super-popular.

There is very little rest for the wicked on this show, given that there is going to be another star sent home on tomorrow next’s show. For it, the theme is going to be taking you back to the pros’ hometowns.
