ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 5 spoilers: The story for Kerry Washington, cast in ‘Yes’

When “Scandal” season 5 premieres on ABC Thursday night, we’re going to get a chance to see just what happens when Olivia and Fitz finally get an opportunity to actually be together. We’re not sure just what the story is going to bring for these two in the long-term, but they will at least have a moment or two of temporary happiness.

The reason that we say “temporary” should be simple here for anyone who has seen this show over time: You know that at some point, disaster is almost sure to strike these two. We cannot say for sure that this is going to happen in the second episode of the season (airing on October 1) entitled “Yes,” but it does look like there will be a mission that forces Kerry Washington’s character away from Fitz for some time. Just take a look at the synopsis below for some additional information:

“The Pope and Associates team dives into a new case that takes Olivia out of D.C. and away from the President. Meanwhile, back at the White House, Fitz is determined to find who’s responsible for causing the latest turn of events, and Abby receives unexpected guidance from a master of damage control as she struggles to catch a break.”

The “latest turn of events” is probably going to be the big surprise that happens at the end of season 4, and that is something that you should certainly be looking forward to. This show does have that tremendous history of dropping huge twists, and unlike some shows on other networks, they are very good at hiding them.
