‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ books new ‘Daily Show’ host Trevor Noah for interview
How about this for an interesting interview? A former correspondent for “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” has now booked future host Trevor Noah for an interview on his own show. If this does not turn out to be interesting, what would be?
Noah has been booked for “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” airing on Thursday, September 20, where he is going to join UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon along with musical guest Chris Stapleton. Given Colbert’s expertise with Comedy Central, it’s possible that the two will have a chance to shoot the breeze a little bit, and also get into it on the election cycle. This will also be one of the best chances since Noah’s previous “Daily Show” appearances prior to his announcement as host to start to get a sense of his political point of view.
It should be noted that in some ways, Noah and Colbert are not direct competitors, though “The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore” does air in competition with Stephen on CBS. We imagine that this will be a friendly chat, and if nothing else it continues an excellent trend by the folks over at “The Late Show’s” booking department of them getting genuinely interesting, well-known people to turn up on the show.
“The Daily Show” is going to return on Monday, September 28, with Noah being forced to get a crash-course in politics as he comes on right in the thick of GOP Debate season. He is missing the big discussion happening tonight on CNN, which is somewhat of a shame thanks to all the soundbytes that are likely going to come from that.
