‘NCIS’ season 13 spoilers: Show boss on return of Muse Watson, other guests
Over the course of “NCIS” season 13, we anticipate many surprises, with some of the biggest ones coming at you almost right away. In the premiere episode, numerous guests are going to stop by, with some being in ghostly form, as Agent Gibbs battles to the best of his ability to stay alive after the shooting in the finale.
You know already that one of the people who will visit him in the premiere as he goes in and out of consciousness is Mike Franks (Muse Watson), someone you shouldn’t be surprised to see. Why he has been dead for some time on the show, Watson has made a number of return appearances almost as the ghostly mentor that Mark Harmon’s character wishes he still has. He is the part of himself that he looks towards for advice.
However, showrunner Gary Glasberg makes it very clear to TV Guide that there are many other people who are going to turn up in one form or another as well:
“You have to remember that Gibbs is in a difficult place … He’s going to see some things and talk with some people that might surprise everybody. It’s no surprise that Mike is there, but there are some other people from his past who he also interacts with, in some really touching scenes.”
Glasberg does note that one person who will not be turning up is Cote de Pablo, so you can go ahead and rule that out as a possibility. We do still think there is a shot she surfaces on the show eventually, but there is not really a timetable for that. It may have to be for some sort of milestone hour.

I guess the spat with Cote de Pablo is not water under the bridge for Glasberg. What more important episode, Gibbs in danger of dying. could they have and not bring Ziva back? She was like a daughter to him. Yes she is no longer with the show but nether is MIke Franks and he shows up plenty. She was on the show for 8 years. She agreed to make guess spots so it seems Glasberg/CBS are the ones being petty. Bad move imo.

I’m tired of ghost Franks and all the Gibbs melodrama in general. I find ghost Franks to be a cheesy plot devise and just an excuse to heap even more angst and trauma on the ever brooding Gibbs. I wish they’d let other team members shine and have character flattering drama for more than a split second. I really miss Tony being portrayed as a great agent and no doubt, he will be to blame for Gibbs getting shot (rather than Gibbs who will get the usual pity party). I don’t want to see Ziva return either. The show would turn back into the contest they had for several years of who was the most tragic – Ziva or Gibbs. Of course Gibbs is the clear winner now.

I’m very excited for the new season and also for the main cast and the coming guest stars. This show never fails to make me excited and happy. It has yet never disappointed me.

Excuse me but – ” Why he has been dead for some time on the show, Watson has made a number of return appearances almost as the ghostly mentor that Mark Harmon’s character wishes he still has.” Shouldn’t that be “WHILE” he has been dead…..” ?

They need to bring Mike Franks back in as a regular somehow. Really needed since the new girl just doesn’t seem to jell somehow.l
