‘Faking It’ season 2, episode 13 review: Are Amy and Reagan over?
We had a feeling some time ago on “Faking It” that the writing was on the wall for Amy and Reagan. Do the two have a good many fans out there? Definitely, and we understand why. They were fun together, they cared about each other, and they also seemed like they wanted to make this work.
Here’s the problem: They are clearly in different places. Amy wants to spend the summer preparing for college by attending an elite program if she gets in. Meanwhile, Reagan wants to tour with her music, and to have Amy go with her. Also, Amy’s not entirely sure she is a lesbian, and we already know that this is something that she is not into. When you consider all of the information, it feels pretty inevitable that this was the end we were building to this week.
Is it possible that she shows up at some point in the future? We assume so, given that it is possible that Amy eventually figures out who she is more than she has so far. Right now, she gets defensive anytime that Felix is brought up.
The story about the college program created some great shenanigans, in particular Lauren setting a baton on fire and throwing it in the air in hopes that she could get accepted. Things did take a sad turn, though, when she realized that her being intersex was an easy way in. She doesn’t want to get accepted just because of who she is.
Elsewhere, Shane and Duke love each other! It’s a sweet moment for a character who often acts so cynical and jaded. Unfortunately, he still has to struggle with the secret that he is keeping. Episode Grade: B+.
