‘Twin Peaks’ revival: David Lynch, Mark Frost plead with fans to not share set photos
At the moment, there are few TV projects that have the excitement around them as the upcoming revival of “Twin Peaks” on Showtime. Of course, we certainly understand why there are people curious in checking this out. The original “Twin Peaks” has an enormous cult following, and everyone knows that the revival is filming in Washington, and thanks to the setting many people are aware that scenes are be shooting outside.
Thanks to these factors, the show is running into some problems. Namely, people are waiting around on the set and posting photos of it on social media. This is a widespread problem that happens with many other series, but in a rare move series creators David Lynch and Mark Frost actually released a statement pleading with fans to stop:
“We’re so happy people are excited about being back to where it all began … Like any good mystery, it’s all suppose to be top secret, and would love it if everyone helped keep it that way!”
For the record, we really do think that Frost and Lynch have it right here, and we’ve always felt that set photos disrupt the creative process. Can you imagine doing your job while there are people taking photos in some cases of you mere feet away? It’s hard to think in that situation, and while actors are paid to deal with this sort of stuff on a regular basis, it still has to be rather difficult. We’ve always had a policy not to share them, mostly because we do think that the majority of viewers don’t want to see these sort of things out there and would prefer to be surprised.
We will have some other news when it comes to this revival as it is officially announced, but for now head over here to get some other TV scoop on all we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: Shotime.)
