ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8 spoilers: Full look at big Stana Katic story in ‘XX’
The September 21 premiere of “Castle” entitled “XY” is going to be a big hour for Nathan Fillion’s title character. We are going to see more of how he has moved on from the events of the season 7 finale, and how he and his daughter Alexis are running some sort of private-eye business. Beckett of course still a huge part of his life, but there is a problem: She has gone missing, and it appears that someone dangerous is after her.
For the September 28 episode “XX,” the point of view is going to shift over to Stana Katic’s character, and we will get to see more of how she disappeared and what she is up against. Early Monday, ABC released the full synopsis for the episode, which you can see below:
“In part two of last week’s Season 8 premiere, Beckett’s side of her abrupt disappearance is revealed. After receiving a mysterious tip from her past, Beckett is launched into a fight for her life, with a team of mercenaries hot on her trail. While Castle investigates why his wife is on the run, Beckett must figure out who wants her dead, before they can finish the job.”
For those interested, we do now have confirmation that Jack Coleman will also be appearing in this episode as Bracken. We assumed that this was the case given that he is turning up in the premiere, but it is nice to have some more information on the subject.
Once we get through these two episodes, we feel like “Castle” will start to establish a little bit of its new normal when it comes to taking on new cases. We don’t think, though, the the show will ever shift back to it old normal. While it was great that Castle and Beckett had the partnership that they did, they both deserve the chance to move forward and try something different. This is that chance for them, and we know they will still be spending plenty of time together.

Well sounds interesting and entertaining, but if the reason you tune in is to watch Fillion and Katic do the rom-com thing it will only be a place holder until they are back on the screen together bantering away.

And that’s the reason those people will be gone by the half-hour mark – and there are quite alot of them….
