ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8 spoilers: Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic, threats in new promo
We’re still waiting eagerly for September 21 to arrive, but the good news is that it will be here shortly! That is when “Castle” season 8 will officially premiere on ABC, and there will be no more waiting or general unease among the fandom over what is going to happen next with Castle and Beckett.
One of the additional reasons why fans should really not worry about the twosome being the focal point of the show comes via the promo below, where Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic are clearly in the forefront of the story. Beckett’s missing in action, and some bad people are going to come after Rick. While the majority of the fifteen seconds consists of footage we’ve already seen, there is a new kiss and a few other glimpses here and there that have not been shown off yet.
Also, the scene with Alexis talking about closing cases now have greater context, now that it has been confirmed that Rick is going back to the P.I. business and his daughter will be working alongside him. (As we mentioned, though, we don’t really think that it will change the show too much.)
For those of you wondering where some more of the longer sneak peeks are for the episode, we’re hoping to have more to share in that department over the next few days or so. ABC tends to do a good job of giving you as much good footage as they can for their premieres, at least without completely spoiling the show in the process.

I really like the Father/Daughter arch. In today’s world, it’s great to see a single Father loving up on his only child, a daughter. I’m looking forward to seeing Alexis as a woman who has left her childhood behind her. However, by the end of S8, I hope that she figures out what her bliss is and moves on from her Dad. Since her Dad has a man/child personality, Nathan needs Alexis to get his feet back on the ground professionally for instance if he goes off on one of his wacko theories. I’m looking forward to the professional separation of Kate & Rick as long as their marital relationship is also shown. BTW, when are Kate and Rick going to really have hot kisses instead of the usual “old, married couple smooches”, ugh. And, could they possibly wear less clothing to bed to give the illusion of making love. They have been married less than a year! I welcome changes as I am not afraid of them. Their 12th precinct procedural crime shows were getting too routine. Nothing new under the sun so to speak. I sense that Stana wanted more from her character then what the writers/showrunner were giving her up to the end of S7. Being a Captain gives her both police and political clout! An up and coming State’s Attorney General or a Judge be in her future?

There is nothing new there and as soon as I see Alexis introduced as Castle’s new PI partner I gag. I have no desire at all to watch her working with her father…or doing anything except maybe boarding a plane (alone) for Cambridge.
