‘Legends of Tomorrow’ spoilers: ‘Flash,’ ‘Arrow’ crossover director returns

LegendsClearly, The CW wanted to make sure that someone was at the center of DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” for at least the early going who knew a thing or two about rounding up some superhuman characters and putting them together.

In a post on Twitter, Marc Guggenheim (one of four writers for the two-part pilot alongside Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and showrunner Phil Klemmer) revealed that Glen Winter will be the man in charge of both episodes. Winter is a familiar face to most in the DC Comics – TV territory. He’s done many episodes of “Arrow” (most notable “The Promise”), and he also directed one of the two episodes of the “Arrow” – “Flash” crossover event from last season in “Flash v. Arrow.” He also happens to be very experienced with pilots, given that he recently directed the first episode of “Supergirl” (which is certainly a feast in regards to special effects, which will likely be used aplenty here).

This new series first started filming this week, which has been great for finally starting to get some more news. For example, on Friday, it was revealed just what the costumes were going to be for Hawkman and Hawkgirl, who are going to be two of the central characters alongside The Atom, White Canary, Captain Cold, Heat Wave, and Martin Stein. It is very much a motley crew, and it may take a little bit of time before we figure out just how everyone manages to fit in together.

While we do not know a premiere date for “Legends of Tomorrow” just yet, we would not be shocked if this two-part pilot turns into a two-hour premiere at some point in January. Stay tuned…
